I have struggled with deleting my old blog as I met many nice people while trying to help other save money. Turned out that the blogging community could be very competitive and I was not in it for money, so I stopped so I could have time to raise my children and take care of my household. I have decided to start up a new blog as sharing on facebook only helps so much. I think I bother people talking about this all the time, but I really want to help others live like ourselves.
I am working towards being an Urban Homesteader. Those unfamiliar with the term, basically it's a person living in the city who wants to be self sufficient. I would like to share my journey towards it with you and share tips on things like 72 hour kits, food storage and stockpiling. I don't mean the crazy kind where you go nuts thinking the world is ending, but the easy to use kind that will help you have what you need in any kind of emergency.
What is an emergency? Most people automatically jump to things like tornado, hurricane and things like that. But have you thought of job loss, power outages in the winter, a cut in funds or something coming up like car repairs that can take from what you need to live on. Are you debt free? There are many things that can affect the way you live, and I want to help you become sufficient and skilled enough to be ready for anything.
I am not a professional by any means. I'm just a 23 year old Mom of 2 with my Husband and my Mother. I work every day towards our food storage and want to help others like us who want to take the right steps.
That being said I hope I can help others out there be ready. We are considered "Preppers" at this point, but I would also love the homesteading.
